“This scholarship helped me drastically, it lifted a weight off my shoulders to know that I had extra financial support when it comes to my education at TMCC. I sincerely appreciate this scholarship and words cannot accurately describe my appreciation, gratitude, and gratefulness for receiving this scholarship. I will be using these funds to cover the cost of my tuition and with any remaining funds I will be using them to pay for books and school supplies. Thank you for supporting student veterans like me and allowing us to achieve our dreams.”

“Your scholarship helps me sleep better at night because I’m using the funds I’ve received from this scholarship to fund an emergency savings account so that I’m better protected for life’s surprises. Working at the Veteran Resource Center at TMCC, I’ve witnessed firsthand how financial setbacks can completely halt academic process. I’m not going to be one of those students that suffers academically because of financial misfortune. For that reason, I’m truly grateful that I was selected to receive this scholarship. I’ve also been planning my financial future because of receiving this scholarship. Today I create a budget, save for my future, save for fun, and most importantly save for the unknown life events that have yet to come. Thank you S.E.E.4Vets donors for providing us student veterans with financial help during this stressful academic career, the assistance you provide doesn’t go unappreciated.”

“I am honored and very grateful to you for giving me not just a scholarship but a way to relieve myself and my economic situation. This scholarship will really help me in the upcoming semesters to pay for my tuition fees. I will only get the stress of completing my classes in the best way possible to maintain good grades, instead of thinking about my financial situation. Now that I have a job, I will not have to maybe, work extra hours or focus extra parts of the time to it in order to satisfy my financial needs. Also, I will be able to save something for later, for incidentals or emergencies, one never knows what can happen in the future. In the end, this scholarship is really good news for me and my family. An opportunity for me to continue my student life and for my family, to be reassured that I am ok far away from them, pursuing my desired goals. Thank you very much.”

“I am surprised and honored to have been awarded your veterans scholarship. Having served my country for twenty years, it’s refreshing to know that I am being acknowledges for my service. Being a disabled veteran, the funds that I will receive will help make ends meet in my household. I can’t express how grateful I am. The best way for me to show my gratitude is to study hard, and be a successful student. My enlistment at The Nevada Air National Guard has made it possible for me to 1) complete twenty years of service, and 2) entitle me to qualify for my Post 9-11 education benefits. I will do my best to fulfill my end of the agreement and complete my degree to be best of my abilities. The Nevada Air, and Army National Guard offer the best education benefits in America. Because of the rising costs of college education, I plan to pass on this information to as many high school graduates as possible. Again, thank you very much for recognizing me, to receive your scholarship, I am truly grateful.”

“I want to express my gratitude for receiving this scholarship. Since I began school, I have had to work full time to support myself unceasingly. It is a great relief to have a couple of bills paid for me while I work on my education. I was a medic in the Army, worked with the California Conservation Corps, the American Red Cross, and fought fire with the U.S. Forest Service, all to further my experience in my passion for emergency management. I am determined to and will stop at nothing to achieve my goal of a fulfilling career in my chosen field because I have found nothing that satisfies me more, gives me purpose, and I feel that I was made to do it. I can devote more time to my studies and less time working overtime because of your contribution to my success, and I thank you for that.”

“Receiving this scholarship has allowed me another year of not paying anything out of pocket to attend college. I was able to afford textbooks without struggle. I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded this scholarship. Being able to attend college without worrying about paying tuition is a wonderful feeling. Thanks to this scholarship I was able to start another year of school with minimal stress. I am a member of the Nevada Air National Guard and I use the tuition waiver, however, the waiver does not cover 100% of tuition. The S.E.E.4Vets scholarship covers the remaining balance for me with some overflow. Being able to actually afford to attend college is something I am very proud to say. Thank you for awarding me this opportunity to make another step towards my goals of completing my higher education. I hope I continue to put your kindness to good work. Thank you!!”

“I am so grateful for this scholarship and your support. As new veteran and a new mother that works and goes to school, this scholarship is of tremendous assistance to me in helping to achieve my goals. It will ease the financial burden that going to school can sometimes have, and I am eternally grateful for the help and hope that I am able to put it to good use. Thank you again.”

“Thank you for your wonderful financial contribution to the school, it means very much to someone like myself and all the other recipients. As you know, going to school is a commitment that requires overcoming many obstacles yet the rewards are immense. Having even one burden eased means being able to focus on studies and accomplish that much more towards education.
Your gift for me financially helps towards the cost of supplies and transportation costs. However, your gift personally means that you are my dedicated cheering section urging me to continue studying every day, to be present in class and interact with others, to champion for others about the successes that education can impact on one’s life.”

“It took a lot of personal growth and almost 14 years in the healthcare industry to realize that making a difference in the lives of the sick, the injured, the dying, those in the greatest need is what I wanted to with the rest of my life. Working as a monitor tech at Renown South Meadows, I see how I’ve been able to positively affect the healthcare experience of so many people in my community, and for those who have spent any time in Reno know, this is still a small town. It means that I’ve had the opportunity to help guide my friends, my family, my friends’ families through some of the most confusing and trying times if their lives. It was four years ago I realized that I could finally attain the potential I sought all the while filling the need that exists in northern Nevada for high quality, caring, compassionate healthcare workers by pursuing my education as a registered nurse. I have wanted to pursue this dream for so long but as I’ve aged pursuing that dream has gotten harder and harder as financial obligations pull from every angle. But, I’ll tell you what, now two semesters deep into the Maxine S. Jacobs Nursing Program, I see why RNs are able to make such as difference in people’s lives. This program is hard. It requires devotion on a level which I knew was required, yet somehow failed to fully appreciate. Its rigorous nature trains some of the best RNs in our area and I’m proud to be counted amongst its ranks. This scholarship means the world to me and it truly couldn’t come at a better time. I’ve been struggling to pay my tuition, working as many nightshifts as I can while struggling to retain all the important knowledge nursing school requires. Your generous contribution to my education won’t be forgotten and I truly cannot thank you enough. I plan on staying in Reno and I promise that one day, though I hope it is many years in the future, I’ll be able to ease your burden, to your loved one’s hand, to show them love and compassion, and, most of all, to do you proud. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.”

“Without this scholarship, it would have been extremely difficult to complete my higher education academic goals due to my limited financial resources. I do work in addition to my higher education endeavors but this income in insufficient to pay for the costs of such education. By reducing my need for student loans, this scholarship has lessened my anxiety related to funding my higher education. This in turn better enabled me to focus on my academic performance and mastering the material to give me a better chance of achieving my post-academic career goals. Additionally, I am extremely grateful to the scholarship committee for the awarding of this scholarship and the donors who made this scholarship possible, and for the opportunity it has given me. Moreover, I believe it is most important to actually show my gratitude by continuing academic excellence. Thank you!!”

“Life is always busy! I have to travel a few minutes to get to school. I highly value the privacy that driving affords me, as well as the peace that I get while having even a brief moment to concentrate on just me. I feel that it is important to take the time to focus and get in the right mindset before coming to school each time. Since this is my second try at college, I do now have children, which it’s all the reason more that I gave to balance studying and concentrating on the tasks at hand. Your scholarship has lifted a burden off and has given me more motivation to do well at school. Thank you again for your support.”

“I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the people over at the S.E.E.4VETS organization. Your generosity will assist me in paying additional costs that come with being in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. As a single income family, it will also provide extra money for food, gas, and other family related living expenses while I am attending college. A very heartfelt “Thank You” from my whole family!”

“…Your Donations give endless opportunities to veterans like myself, who thought, “it will be impossible!”. Your kindness extends to changing the life of those close to us. You change people lives by allowing them the opportunity to improve their quality of life, which improves the quality of life of a community through education. Education is the key to a civil and peaceful life within a community and adds to the improvement of the quality of life of our country. God knows we need education, civil manners, and peace.
